Mexico
Mexico is well known for the many religious and secular festivities it celebrates throughout the year. One of the most fascinating celebrations is Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Lest you think this is a solemn occasion, rest assured that it is a very joyful celebration. During your exchange, you will witness firsthand many of Mexico's unique traditions.
Being invited into a Mexican home is a great honor, as the warmth and hospitality of the Mexican people is recognized and known around the world. Family life is also very important to the Mexican people. In the majority of Mexican families, you will have siblings, as most Mexican families have two to four children. Children typically live at home until they marry. You will almost always have company while staying at home!
While staying in Mexico, you will undoubtedly have many opportunities to sample Mexican food, whether at home or eating out at restaurants. The Mexican cuisine is renowned for the spices used, as well as the colorful decorations and vast variety of delicious flavors.
Mexican parents instill very strong principles in their children and tend to raise them traditionally. However, teenagers in Mexico are typically free to go to parties or out with their friends. They are expected to respect their parents, get good grades at school, and be polite and well-behaved. While it is very common for Mexican families to have a maid who helps around the house, teenagers usually must keep their rooms clean and help with household chores.

Extra-curricular activities are often offered at school, such as sports (football and baseball are popular), chess, language and cooking classes.
