Netherlands

The Netherlands

The Netherlands is of course best known for its windmills, tulips and cheese. Still we do not all live in windmills or walk around in wooden shoes. As a exchange student in the Netherlands you will most certainly hear the words, "We are only a small country…" Do not miss the pride behind the words. While the Dutch do live in a small country, it is a nation of which they are extremely proud.

Individual rights and concepts such as freedom of religion and freedom of speech are deeply rooted in its history and culture, which means that the Dutch are very eager to speak their minds about anything and everything that happens in the world.

An exchange in the Netherlands will give you plenty to think about and by the time you go home, you will probably love the country as much as the Dutch do themselves.
